About Lawson Medical Practice

Our Practice

Lawson Medical Practice was established in 2009 in the beautiful surrounds of the Blue Mountains. Located at 7 Orient St, Lawson, NSW 2783, we have convenient onsite car parking via Yileena Ave and provide wheelchair access.

We offer medical and allied health services to patients in the mid and upper Blue Mountains. We look forward to meeting your health care needs with regular GPs, GP registrars, practice nurses, dietician, psychologist and onsite pathology.

Lawson Medical Practice is an AGPAL Accredited Medical Practice. We successfully underwent our fourth accreditation in July 2019.

General Practitioners

Dr Grace Chen

MBBS (Syd), FRACGP, Grad Cert in GP Psychiatry, Dip Child Health. (GP Synergy Supervisor)

Dr Chen started the Practice in 2009 and has an interest in women’s and children’s health, minor skin cancer surgery and medical education.

Dr Christine McHugh

MBBS (Syd), FRACGP (GP Synergy Supervisor).

Dr McHugh has an interest in general medicine and paediatrics.

Dr Robert Marsham

MBBS (Syd), BSc (Hons), FRACGP.

Dr Marsham has an interest in weight management, palliative care, skin cancer management, menopause, diabetes, cardiovascular health, chronic disease management, child & adolescent health, aged care and work cover.

Dr Catherine Harman

MBBS (Hons), FRACGP, Dip Child Health, BA.
Catherine has interests in older people’s health, children’s health, internal medicine and medical education.

Dr Kate Baker

MBBS, DCH, FRACGP

Dr Kate Baker studied medicine at the University of Newcastle. She has completed additional qualifications in paediatric medicine, achieving a Diploma of Child Health. Kate sees all patients, from young to old, for acute and chronic illness, with particular interests in women’s and children’s health, and antenatal care. She practices in a holistic manner to approach health and wellness.

Dr Sam Daneshjoo

MBBS (Syd), MPH, BEng/MedSci (Hons), FRACGP

Dr Sam is interested in women’s, children’s and adolescent health including pregnancy care and immunisations. She is currently also training to be a public health physician.

Dr Mier Marges

MBBS
Dr Mier Marges has practiced as a clinical doctor across Europe, Africa and Australia for the last 23 years. She has a rich surgical experience, has worked in gynaecology and obstetrics and sexual health and has spent years in rural Africa as an all-round doctor. She has a special interest in skin excisions, mental health, addictions and GLBTQI health. She is passionate about supporting people to live a healthy lifestyle.

Ms Gretchen Aman

Bachelor of Nursing (Flinders). Gretchen has an interest in women’s and children’s health and diabetes and has undertaken further training in these areas. Gretchen performs cervical screening.

Ms Diana Taylor

Dip. Applied Science, Nursing (Western Sydney University 1987), Immunisation for Health Practitioners (2021)

Diana has extensive nursing experience in the acute care and outpatient health care settings, particularly in the area of acute and chronic pain. She also has special interest in virtual health care, rural and remote health, disabilities and aged care.

Podiatrist Elizabeth Murtagh

Elizabeth enjoys all aspects of podiatry especially vascular and diabetic complex patients. Elizabeth has a passion for working with patients with disabilities, indigenous background and the elderly.

Dietician Sophie Lewandowski

Master of Science Nutrition & Dietetics; Bachelor of Science (Nutrition & Food)

Accredited Practising Dietitian, Accredited Nutritionist.

Sophie has an interest in health and behaviour change coaching. She can provide nutritional support and advice for chronic disease (including diabetes and coeliac disease), disabilities (including NG, PEG and PEJ feeding), aged care, children and adolescents, eating disorders, sports nutrition, food intolerances and allergies.

Dietician Ms Hylas Choct

BAppSc (Exercise & Sport Science) & BSc (Nutrition), Hons (Dietetics) (Syd)
Hylas is an Accredited Practising Dietitian based in the mid and upper Blue Mountains. She specialises in paediatric nutrition including fussy eating, poor growth and food allergies. Hylas has expertise in nutrition support for chronic conditions, older people and disability.

Psychologist Dr David Stevens

All About Change
PhD (Psychology), MAPS, Fellow of APS college of Organisation Psychologists, Dip Hypnotherapy, Grad. Dip. Ed. counselling, MSc (environmental psychology), DCA (political and social justice), MA (literature), Dip. Teaching
David has extensive experience in educational and corporate psychology. He has a particular interest in anxiety and phobias and is trialling virtual reality as part of treatment. David has a focus in assisting people through significant later in life changes such as retirement, redundancy and personal upheavals.
