Welcome To Lawson Medical Practice

Lawson Medical Practice was established in 2009 in the beautiful surrounds of the Blue Mountains.

We offer primary care health services to patients in the mid and upper Blue Mountains with General Practitioners, Registered Nurses and onsite pathology. Cardiology services are also available.

Lawson Medical Practice is a QPA Accredited Medical Practice.

About us

Our Practice

We are committed to training the next generation of high quality health care professionals for the Mountains. Lawson Medical Practice is affiliated with RACGP and Western Sydney University as a teaching practice and we host General Practice registrars as well as medical and nursing students. Registrars are fully qualified doctors who have completed their hospital training and are undergoing further advanced specialty training in the field of General Practice under the mentorship of  Specialist GPs in the practice.

Dr Catherine Harman

MBBS (Hons), FRACGP, Dip Child Health, BA

RACGP Supervisor

Dr Catherine Harman graduated from the University of Queensland in 2000 and worked in the hospital system before moving to Primary Care in 2007. She has interests in older people’s health, children’s health and medical education.

Dr Jessica Patton

MBBS, FRACGP, BAppliedSc

Dr Jessica Patton completed her postgraduate medical degree in 2015 and commenced GP training in 2021, after gaining experience in hospitals in both Victoria and NSW. She has a particular interest in paediatrics, women’s health and preventive care, but enjoys the whole spectrum of General Practice.

Dr Kate Baker

MBBS, DCH, FRACGP

Dr Kate Baker studied medicine at the University of Newcastle. She has completed additional qualifications in paediatric medicine, achieving a Diploma of Child Health. Kate sees all patients, from young to old, for acute and chronic illness, with particular interests in women’s and children’s health, and antenatal care. She practices in a holistic manner to approach health and wellness.

Dr Mier Marges

MBBS, FRACGP

Dr. Mier Marges is a highly experienced Dutch-trained general practitioner with a diverse medical background spanning Europe, rural Africa, and Australia. Having worked in a variety of healthcare settings, from busy urban hospitals to remote villages, she brings an exceptionally broad knowledge base and a deep, holistic approach to patient care.

Dr. Mier’s expertise goes beyond just diagnosing symptoms—she takes the time to understand the unique circumstances of each individual, crafting thoughtful, long-term solutions tailored to the whole person. Known for her thoroughness and compassion, she believes in treating the underlying causes of health challenges, not just the quick fixes.

Now settled in Australia with her family, Dr. Mier remains closely connected to her Dutch roots, enriching her practice with a global perspective and a deep appreciation for cultural diversity in healthcare.

Dr Grace Chen

MBBS (Syd), FRACGP, Grad Cert in GP Psychiatry, Dip Child Health 

RACGP Supervisor

Dr Chen started the Practice in 2009 and has an interest in women’s and children’s health, minor skin cancer surgery and medical education.

Dr Chris Ganora

MD (University of Wollongong), BCSc (Macquarie University)

Dr Chris Ganora graduated from the University of Sydney in 2005, and has diverse experience across both clinical and non-clinical roles, within numerous communities. He has a passion for palliative care and innovating within local health systems. 

Currently Dr Ganora provides off-site care for residents of Bodington Aged Care Facility and is not physically practising out of the Lawson Medical Practice.

NEPHROLOGIST

Dr Raymond Lin

MBBS (Hons), BOptom (Hons), FRACP

Dr Raymond Lin graduated from the University of Sydney and completed his Nephrology training through Concord, John Hunter and Westmead Hospitals. He is a Staff Specialist Nephrologist within Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District and an Honorary Medical Officer at Westmead Hospital. He is also a Clinical Lecturer for the University of Sydney School of Medicine.

He is experienced in the management of patients with chronic kidney disease, dialysis and kidney transplantation, kidney stones, and electrolyte disorders. He has a special interest in renal metabolic bone disease and calcium-phosphate disorders.

Dr Cuneyt Ada

Dr Cuneyt Ada is now offering cardiology services at Lawson Medical Practice including cardiologist clinic, echocardiography, holter monitors and ECG reporting.

Dr Andra-Vanessa Rucoi 

MD (University of Sydney), BMSc (Honours)

Dr Andra Rucoi enjoys all aspects of General Practice, particularly skin health, women’s health and preventative lifestyle medicine.
She graduated from the University of Sydney Medical Program (Doctor of Medicine, MD) in 2020, after completing her undergraduate studies in Medical Science (B Med Sci with Honours). She completed her internship and resident years at Gosford and Wyong Hospital.
She feels strongly about providing supportive, holistic care to meet the unique needs of the individual. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, reading, bushwalks and swimming.

Dr Prahita Anandasivam

MD (University of Wollongong), BCSc (Macquarie University)

Dr. Prahita Anandasivam is a GP Registrar with broad experience across various specialties. Her medical training includes working as a Basic Physician Trainee at Royal North Shore Hospital and as a Resident at Hornsby Hospital. Dr. Anandasivam holds a Doctor of Medicine
from the University of Wollongong and a Bachelor of Clinical Science from Macquarie University. Known for her warmth, professionalism, and compassionate care, she adopts a holistic approach that considers the physical, lifestyle and psychosocial aspects of health.

Dr. Anandasivam has a passion for working with the elderly and a strong interest in geriatric medicine, focusing on the management of frailty and chronic conditions, including diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart disease, and dementia. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to old
soul music, and exploring nature.

Ms Gretchen Aman

Bachelor of Nursing (Flinders). Gretchen has an interest in women’s and children’s health and diabetes and has undertaken further training in these areas. Gretchen performs cervical screening.

Australian Clinical Labs

Australian Clinical Labs offer on site pathology collection 6 days per week. Monday to Friday 8am-1pm and Saturdays 8am-12pm.
